Slingshot has been named one of Australia’s Best Places to Work for the fourth consecutive year, and was the only advertising, marketing or communications business to make the 2024 list.
The WRK+ Best Places to Work list, released on 9 August 2024, ranked Slingshot fourth among organisations with fewer than 100 employees.
Four years of steady progress
Slingshot has appeared on the list every year since its inaugural edition in 2021, improving its position each time: 19th in 2021, 12th in 2022, 8th in 2023 and now 4th in 2024.
The result is all the more significant because it spans a period of structural change. In the second half of 2023, Slingshot and its content and creative arm, onesmoothstone, restructured to respond to a converging media landscape. Over the same period, the agency introduced its Unconventional Intelligence (UI) methodology and launched Creatalytics, a proprietary tool that combines creative and analytics.
Investing in people
CEO and partner Simon Rutherford said the recognition came at a time when many agencies were making redundancies and restructuring. “This achievement is even more satisfying as it covers a period when we’ve made structural changes within our business,” he said.
Rutherford said the result reflected the agency’s ongoing commitment to nurturing and building its culture. “This recognition is a testament to our belief that investing in our people and their well-being creates a resilient, motivated team capable of delivering exceptional results.”
“We are dedicated to sustaining this culture of continuous growth and development, ensuring that Slingshot remains a place where our team thrives and excels,” he added.
